Spiritual Growth

“No church can be prospered in which all the ministration comes from the pulpit”

Adult Spiritual Formation

We believe that the key to growth is challenge, to get out of your comfort zone.  We challenge our parishioners to think in different ways, to listen to perspectives outside of their own, to open their hearts to different ways of thinking and listening. We provide opportunities to retreat to Christ-centered stillness and contemplation.

* At this point in the pandemic, all of our adult spiritual formation programs have moved to digital platforms.  We welcome you to join us there!

Altar Guild

Come into the holy of holies.  Just as the women came to care for Christ's body on the first Easter morning, so do the men and women of the altar guild care for the body of Christ in our midst today.  This sacred calling helps prepare and tend the sacraments, vestments, and altar adornments for worship.

Altar Servers

How can you serve?  Consider being a reader, an usher, or helping with communion as a chalice bearer.  Starting in the third grade, children are also invited to participate in our services (especially as acolytes and readers).

Bible Study

Want to dive into the source material?  Join us on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom for Bible study.  We’ll discuss the next Sunday’s readings, so there's no need to prepare anything in advance.  Dive in, discuss, discover.

Children's Spiritual Formation

With their open eyes, ears, and hearts, sometimes children are closer to God than their parents.  We look to nurture that love, natural curiosity, and excitement with our children’s program on Sunday mornings, as well as events held throughout the year.

Circle of Grace Dinners

Want to get to know other Grace-goers better, but Sunday morning feels too big?  Circle of Grace Dinners might be for you!  This rotating supper club pairs eight to twelve people together to share a meal in your home (or the home of one of your fellow Circle of Grace diners)!

Youth Ministry

At Grace, we teach stillness through prayer and meditation.  We teach learning to put our own pressures aside and focus on getting back to God, finding Christ in each other and ourselves. Our youth ministry programs for middle school and high school give our kids a community of love and respect for each other while leading them to a deeper relationship with God.

Healing Prayer

Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.”  Grace’s Healing Prayer Ministry team lives this every Sunday.  During the service, the team’s members gather in the Chapel to welcome anyone carrying the weight of sickness or worry.  The team offers their prayers and anoints with blessed oil. Anything said in the chapel is heard in confidence and written on the healing team’s hearts for additional prayer.

Hospitality

Hospitality is a gift of the Spirit.  The Hospitality Committee coordinates funeral receptions and other celebrations throughout the year.

Men of Grace

Our mission is to serve the men of Grace through fellowship and formation.  We also provide opportunities for spiritual retreats.

Men's Spiritual Formation

We gather on Saturday mornings to share a simple breakfast.  To support our spiritual journey of discovering Christ within us, we dive into the great adventure of our formation as men with an examination of Christ's teachings.  We also provide opportunities for spiritual retreats.

Music

Grace Church is blessed with many parishioners who value and participate in music ministry as an important and regular part of their life in this faith community. There is a particularly strong heritage of choral music at Grace Church, beginning with choirs of men and boys, and now continuing with both mixed-gender and treble ensembles. Instrumentalists of all ages are encouraged to offer their gifts as best edifies the community.

Learn more about our music program here.

Outreach

“And they’ll know we are Christians by our love.”  Serving others is one of God’s great calls to us.  When we walk side-by-side with those from another experience, we live out our prayer to respect the dignity of every human being. Please see our Outreach page to find out more information about our many ministry partners.

Spirited Women

Spirited Women is our Adult Christian Formation Program for women.  It is a way for us to connect with one other through reading books, listening to lectures, or other media such as Podcasts. We focus on connecting these messages to our life experiences and the Word of God.  Over time, we have chosen a variety of topics to discuss including programs from  the Society of St. John the Evangelist and Presiding Bishop William Curry as well as books like The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Bishop Desmond Tutu.  We gather weekly, via Zoom, and connect almost every Saturday morning from 9:30 – 11 am.

Women of Grace

Through mission, ministry, fellowship, and formation, the women of Grace Church work together to foster fellowship for all women of Grace through social and spiritual formation.  We have many opportunities to foster your own spiritual growth and connection at Grace – it’s what makes walking into Grace special!
